Crassula perfoliata, commonly known as Propeller Plant or Crassula Perfoliata var. falcata, is a striking and unique succulent that is known for its fan-shaped, propeller-like leaves. It has a beautiful, architectural form that makes it a popular choice for succulent collections and as an ornamental plant.

Here’s what you need to know if you’re looking for Crassula perfoliata in a pot:

🌿 About Crassula perfoliata (Propeller Plant):

  • Appearance:

    • Thick, fleshy, and fan-shaped leaves that grow in a spiral formation, giving it a propeller-like look.

    • Leaves are usually pale green or grayish with a hint of red or purple at the edges when exposed to full sun.

    • Can grow up to 18 inches (45 cm) tall and wide, but tends to stay more compact when potted.

  • Flowers: When it blooms, it produces small, star-shaped white or pink flowers that appear in clusters during the spring or summer.

🪴 Pot Setup:

  • Pot size: A 3–4 inch pot works well for a small starter plant. As it grows, you can move it into a 5–6 inch pot.

  • Pot type: Use terra cotta or ceramic pots with drainage holes to prevent waterlogging. These pots help regulate moisture.

  • Soil: Use a well-draining cactus or succulent mix. You can add a bit of perlite, sand, or pumice for extra drainage.

☀️ Care Tips:
Light: Prefers full sun to partial shade. Bright, indirect light indoors will work, and outdoor full sun will bring out the best coloration, especially red edges on the leaves.
Watering: Water deeply but infrequently — only when the soil is dry. This plant is drought-tolerant, so be careful not to overwater. In winter, reduce watering as the plant is dormant.
Temperature: Thrives in warm temperatures (65–75°F / 18–24°C). Protect from frost.
Fertilizing: Feed once or twice during the growing season (spring and summer) with a diluted, balanced succulent fertilizer. Don’t over-fertilize.
