Orbea halipedicola is a unique succulent belonging to the Asclepiadaceae family, characterized by its leafless, four-angled stems that grow in compact clumps. The stems are mottled purplish maroon on a green background, adorned with prominent tooth-like projections, giving them a distinctive appearance. This species produces clusters of star-shaped flowers that can emit a strong, unpleasant odor to attract pollinators, particularly flies. Typically found in southern Africa, it thrives in well-draining soil and prefers bright light conditions. Orbea halipedicola is often sought after by succulent collectors for its unusual morphology and striking floral display.
