Graptosedum 'Alpenglow'

Description

The Graptosedum ‘Alpenglow’ is an easy-going hybrid succulent that will grow as a rosette. It was developed by crossing between species of the Graptopetalum and Sedum plants. It has stout leaves that can change colour from grey-green and dusty rose to pink coral tones, depending on sun exposure and temperature stress. The foliage will sometimes even develop a coating of powdery dust which covers most of the leaf called farina and which helps to protect the plants from the sun. The leaves will take shape like an offset with rosette shape and they can group and will also cluster together eventually.

Graptosedum ‘Alpenglow’ tolerates sunny locations well: place it on the windowsill or balcony where it receives the full sun and its most deeply colored rose hues come out. Succulent bowls or other mixed plantings will also be nicely enhanced by the color. In common with many others of this succulent line, it also requires quite a forgiving touch with the water, making it perfectly suitable to householders that leave the plants or may forget to water for periods of time.
