Description

This is Echeveria Frill Curls an ornamental succulent variety with large spoon-shaped leaves which have a ruffled, wavy edge. The colour of the rosette itself is blue-green but the frilled leaf edges gain hues of soft pink to purple on the older, outer leaves. Farina, a white waxy substance, coats the surface of the leaf which gives it a pastel, slightly chalky finish and also provides some sun protection. With age the leaf margins become more pronounced giving each specimen a more unique sculptural look.

They thrive in an area that gets lots of bright light – a sunny windowsill, balcony, or southern exposure – because light is what helps promote their frilled leaf edges and pink tints. In less light, whether it be direct but low or filtered light, ruffles will still appear, but they can spread further apart, be a looser curl and the rosette itself may fade a bit in colour. They can be great for study desks, balcony ledges or as the star attraction of a mixed succulent pot with the frills complementing some round,smooth-leafed succulents.
