The Variegated Campfire is a striking and colorful succulent — it’s a Crassula capitella ‘Campfire’ variegata, a variegated form of the popular Campfire Crassula.
Here’s what you should know if you’re looking for Variegated Campfire in a pot:
🌿 About Crassula capitella ‘Campfire’ (Variegated):
-
Appearance:
-
Long, pointed leaves that form low clusters or rosettes.
-
Stunning variegation: creamy yellow, pale green, sometimes blushed with pink or red, especially when exposed to bright sunlight.
-
As it matures, the plant spreads and can create dense mats or trailing edges over pots.
-
-
Size: Typically about 6–8 inches tall; spreads wider over time.
🪴 Pot setup:
-
Pot size: A 4–6 inch pot works well for small specimens; larger as it grows. If you want a starter plant, you can keep it in a 3–4 inch pot for a while.
-
Pot type: Terra cotta, ceramic, or plastic with drainage holes. Terra cotta is great because it helps the soil dry out between waterings.
-
Soil: Use well-draining cactus or succulent mix; you can mix in perlite or pumice for extra drainage.
☀️ Care Tips:
✅ Light: Bright sunlight to bring out the red and pink tones. Indoors, place it near a sunny window; outdoors, give it partial to full sun (avoid intense afternoon heat if in very hot climates).
✅ Watering: Let soil dry completely between waterings. Overwatering can lead to root rot.
✅ Temperature: Prefers warm temperatures; protect from frost.
✅ Growth: Can be pruned or trimmed to encourage compact, bushier growth.
