Aloe juvenna, commonly known as Tiger Tooth Aloe, is a small, spiky aloe with a striking look — perfect for pots and small arrangements.
Here’s a quick guide if you’re looking for or caring for Aloe juvenna in a pot:
🌿 About Aloe juvenna (Tiger Tooth Aloe):
-
Appearance:
-
Compact, upright stems with stacked, triangular green leaves edged with soft, white teeth (giving it the “tiger tooth” nickname).
-
Leaves often show reddish or bronze tones when exposed to strong sunlight.
-
Can produce tubular coral-pink flowers on tall stalks when mature.
-
-
Size: Grows up to ~12 inches (30 cm) tall but usually stays smaller when young or potted.
🪴 Pot setup:
-
Pot size: For young plants, a 3–4 inch pot is perfect; upgrade to a 5–6 inch pot as it grows.
-
Pot type: Terra cotta or ceramic with drainage holes is ideal — aloe hates soggy roots.
-
Soil: Well-draining cactus/succulent mix; you can add extra pumice or perlite.
☀️ Care Tips:
✅ Light: Bright, indirect light indoors; full sun to partial shade outdoors. Too little light makes it leggy.
✅ Watering: Water deeply but only when soil is completely dry. Reduce watering in winter.
✅ Temperature: Warm, dry conditions preferred; protect from frost (below 40°F / ~5°C).
✅ Propagation: Easily propagated from offsets (baby plants) that grow at the base.
